Redundancy talks at Saab in Linkoping complete
LINKOPING, Sweden, May 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Negotiations between Saab AB and Metall - the Swedish Metalworkers' Union -- are now complete. Of the 60 people given notice on 26 January this year, 39 employees will be leaving the company. Of these, 18 are being offered retirement pension.

Maxim Pharmaceuticals Announces Phase 3 Trial of Ceplene in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Meets Primary Trial Endpoint
San Diego, Calif. and STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Maxim Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq:MAXM) (SSE:MAXM) today announced the results of an international Phase 3 clinical trial testing the combination of Ceplene plus interleukin-2 (IL-2) in 320 patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in complete remission. The primary endpoint of the Phase 3 trial was achieved using intent-to-treat analysis, as patients treated with the Ceplene/IL-2 combination therapy experienced a statistically significant (p=0.026) increase in leukemia-free survival compared to patients in the control arm of the trial.

Christer Fahraeus, Urban Jansson, Lars Berg, Nils Rydbeck, Kjell Duveblad, David Henry and Jan Uddenfeldt were re-elected Members of the Board and Martha Josefsson was elected Member of the Board. Christer Fahraeus was re-elected Chairman of the Board. The Board was authorised to decide on the new share issue of a maximum of 10.000.000 shares in order to facilitate the acquisition of companies and businesses.
