STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 30, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Autoliv Inc. (NYSE:ALV) (SSE:ALIV)-- the worldwide leader in automotive safety systems -- today announced that its Board of Directors has approved an expansion of the Company's stock repurchase program. As a result, management is authorized to repurchase an additional 10 million shares of its outstanding common stock in addition to the existing authorization of 10 million shares. Of this authorization, 7.7 million has been utilized following the repurchase of 1.7 million shares during the first quarter this year. Currently, Autoliv has 94.7 million shares outstanding. According to the authori zation, purchases can be made from time to time as market and business conditions warrant, in open market, negotiated or block transactions.
