Akzo Nobel invests in global research and production facilities in the U.S.
ARNHEM, The Netherlands, Aug. 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Akzo Nobel (Other OTC:AKZOY) is to establish an international R&D center in Pontiac, Michigan, U.S., for its Car Refinishes business. The site will play a major role in the development of new products for the global and regional refinishes markets. Along with the R&D facilities, Akzo Nobel will also build a new hi-tech dispersion facility to produce Sikkens Autobase(R) Plus Car Refinishes paint for the North American region. The total investment will amount to USD 30 million.
Church's Chicken(tm) Names Mensah Chief Operating Officer
ATLANTA, Aug. 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Church's Chicken(tm), a division of AFC Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq:AFCEE), today announced that Nana Mensah, a 15-year industry veteran of Long John Silver's and PepsiCo, has been named Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Mensah will replace Barbara Timm-Brock, who resigned recently to pursue other interests.
Carnegie, Alfred Berg and EDS sign Letter of Intent
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, August 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Carnegie has signed a Letter of Intent together with Alfred Berg and EDS with the aim of forming a partnership to create a common solution for securities post trade processing. Following a joint detailed feasibility study, it is the parties' intention to sign a definitive agreement in the later part of 2003.

Two Vodafone live mobile phones among the three top-selling mobiles
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- A growing number of mobile phone users are keen to use pictures to communicate and to get mobile information in colour. Vodafone Sweden's (Other OTC:VODPF) (NYSE:VOD) sales list for July has the two Vodafone live mobiles: the Sony Ericsson T610 and the Sharp GX10I, among its three top-selling phones. In fact, eight of the ten mobile phones on the list now offer their users colour screens.
