American Physicians Service Group, Inc. Announces Investment In Financial Industries Corporation
AUSTIN, Texas, June 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- American Physicians Service Group, Inc. ("APS") (Nasdaq:AMPH) today announced that it had acquired an interest in Financial Industries Corporation ("FIC") (Nasdaq:FNIN), a company that markets and underwrites individual life insurance and annuity products. In a transaction valued at approximately $5.7 million, APS acquired approximately 385,000 shares of the outstanding common stock along with a stock option to purchase 323,000 additional shares. The option is exercisable upon FIC achieving certain performance thresholds. Concurrent with the investment, Mr. Ken Shifrin, APS Chairman of the Board, will be appointed to the board of FIC.

Altair Nanotechnologies Receives 90-Day Extension from NASDAQ
RENO, Nev., June 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. (Nasdaq:ALTI) announced today that it has received a letter from the NASDAQ Stock Market noting that the company meets the initial listing requirements for NASDAQ SmallCap Market Under Marketplace Rule 4310(c)(2)(A). Therefore, NASDAQ has provided the company with an additional 90 calendar days, or until September 2, 2003, to regain compliance with Marketplace Rule 4310(c)(8)(D), which requires the company securities to have a minimum bid price of $1.00.
EQT completes the acquisition of Com Hem
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 5, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- EQT Northern Europe private equity fund has today completed the acquisition of Com Hem. Closing of the deal had been conditioned upon e.g. approvals from Swedish regulatory authorities, which now have been received. The Board of Directors will include Bengt Halse, Kjell Hellberg, Hakan Johansson, Thomas von Koch and Lars Weiss. Bengt Halse will be the Chairman of the Board.
