Dobson Communications Signs Agreement to Repurchase Preferred Stock
OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dobson Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DCEL) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to repurchase in a private transaction approximately $46.1 million (liquidation preference amount) of its 12 1/4% Senior Exchangeable Preferred Stock for $48.9 million. CUSIPs for the 12 1/4% Senior Exchangeable Preferred Stock are 256 072 30 7 and 256 069 30 3. The transaction is expected to close by year-end.

Transmeridian Announces Update on Financing and Operations
HOUSTON, Dec. 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Transmeridian Exploration, Inc. (OTCBB:TMXN) announced today that EurAsia Holding AG has defaulted on a portion of its obligations under the previously announced $3.0 million private placement of common stock. The private placement will be closed with total proceeds of $1.2 million in exchange for 3,333,333 shares. EurAsia requested an extension of time to complete the second tranche of the investment, and the parties discussed terms of a settlement. EurAsia did not accept the Company's proposal and also defaulted on its remaining payment obligation which was due on December 23, 2003. The Subscription Agreement provides for default payments totaling $200,000, which EurAsia has agreed to pay within 10 days of December 23, 2003.

Skandia announces sale of Japanese operations
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Skandia announced today that it has reached a definitive agreement with Millea Holdings, under which The Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co. Ltd. will acquire 100 per cent of the shares of Skandia Japan. The transaction, valued at 20 billion YEN (approximately 1.4 billion SEK), is subject to Japanese regulatory approval and will further improve Skandia's liquidity position. In comparison with Skandia's report as per 30 September 2003, the transaction will have a positive impact on shareholders' equity of approximately 0.8 billion SEK, net of expenses and before provision for taxes. The impact on net asset value will be positive by approximately 0.5 billion SEK.
