(OTCBB:SRGG) posted second quarter net income available to common shareholders of $3.4 million, or 10 cents a share, compared with a restated loss of $4.6 million, or 16 cents a share, for the same quarter in 2007. This year's June quarter included a gain on the sale of its Peace Oil subsidiary of $3.7 million reflecting the elimination of prior periods' tax liabilities. Excluding the gain, Surge Global would have posted a loss available to common shareholders of $0.3 million.
