Blyth, Inc. Increases Semi-Annual Cash Dividend 17 Percent
GREENWICH, Conn., Sept. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Blyth, Inc. (NYSE:BTH), a leader in home decor and home fragrance products, today announced that it has declared a semi-annual cash dividend of $0.27 per share on the Company's common stock for the six months ended July 31, 2006. This represents an increase of $0.04 per share, or approximately 17%, over the most recent dividend. For fiscal year 2007, the annual dividend will be $0.50 per share, representing a $0.06 per share, or approximately 14%, increase over the prior year. The semi-annual dividend, authorized at the September 7, 2006 Board of Directors meeting, will be payable to shareholders of record as of November 1, 2006, and will be paid on November 15, 2006.

Growth of Washington Region Expected to Normalize
MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- According to a study released today, the Washington area held onto its top spot on the list of the nation's strongest regional economies, despite a recent slowdown in federal procurement spending. In his annual survey of federal procurement spending, Dr. Stephen Fuller, director of George Mason University's Center for Regional Analysis, reports that federal procurements in the region increased by an estimated 2.5 percent in 2005, versus 19 percent in 2004, and nearly 17 percent in 2003. The region is also expected to exceed the projected 65,500 new jobs for 2006.
