The growth is attributed to back-to-school shopping, causing traffic at Buy.com to jump 83 percent with more than 1.2 million unique visitors from home during that week.
Ahold comments on attachment of Disco shares
ZAANDAM, Netherlands, August 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ahold (NYSE:AHO) has been informed by its legal counsel in Uruguay that Ahold's objection to the attachment on the company's shares in Disco, its Argentine supermarket subsidiary, has been denied. This attachment is the result of legal action before a Uruguayan court by former account holders of Banco Montevideo. Ahold is disappointed with this development. The company intends to vigorously seek the lifting of the attachment. Ahold is currently seeking legal advice on this matter and cannot comment further until more is known.

ANSI Completes Pilot Accreditation Program for Personnel Certification Bodies
NEW YORK, Aug. 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), a non-profit organization that coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system, has announced the accreditation of three organizations involved with the certification of personnel in the safety, supply management, and construction industries. This concludes the first phase of the Institute's launch of a new accreditation program for personnel certification bodies based upon the new international standard, ISO/IEC 17024-2003, General requirements for bodies operating certification systems of persons.
