Skandia -- Third quarter sales 2003
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Swedish Insurance Federation today will be publishing insurance industry statistics for the third quarter of 2003. These statistics also include data about Skandia's sales development for the third quarter in Sweden. In view of Skandia's obligations under the stock exchange listing agreement, Skandia has therefore decided to release information today on sales for the third quarter of 2003.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Galapagos form Discovery Alliance in Osteoporosis
MECHELEN, Belgium, Nov. 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Galapagos Genomics today announced that it has entered into a discovery alliance in the field of osteoporosis with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, the pharmaceutical division of Wyeth (NYSE:WYE). Within the alliance, Galapagos will use its osteoporosis disease expertise in combination with its SilenceSelect(TM) gene knock-down platform to discover and validate novel drug targets that drive bone formation. Under the terms of the agreement, Wyeth has obtained the exclusive option to license the targets for the development of osteoporosis drugs. In return, Galapagos will receive an upfront payment and research funding, and is eligible for certain licensing, development and commercialization milestones that could amount to over $40 million of income to Galapagos.
Saehan Bancorp Reports 34% Increase in 2003 Third Quarter Earnings
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Saehan Bancorp (OTCBB:SAEB), parent company of Saehan Bank, today reported net income of $1.2 million for the third quarter of 2003, up from $0.9 million for the third quarter of 2002. Third quarter 2003 diluted earnings per share increased 17% to $0.28 from $0.24 for the third quarter of 2002. Return on average equity for the third quarter of 2003 was 16.48% and return on assets was 1.76%, compared to 14.33% and 1.42%, respectively, in the third quarter of 2002.
