Carmina Technologies Initial SARS Database Program to be Implemented in June
CALGARY, Alberta, June 16, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Carmina Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:CARL) expects to have its first SARS automated questionnaire and database up and running at the University of Guelph Student Health Department by June 20, 2003. The University of Guelph enrolls more than 16,000 students. The University's Student Health Services, like other medical clinics and hospitals in Ontario, is screening students before they enter the health center. Students are asked to complete forms and describe any medical symptoms. By utilizing Carmina's automated ASSUR H&S (Health and Safety) protocol, the University hopes to have at its disposal an efficient system providing a database available in real time for analysis should a suspected case of SARS surface.

The Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild Will Offer a Marine Engineering Training Program

The Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild is beginning a Marine Engineering Training Program to prepare its volunteer crew members for engineering duties aboard the 1902 iron Tugboat Jupiter and the tall ship Gazela. Master chief engineer Dorn Yates will lead the class aboard the 1902 iron Tugboat Jupiter. First meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2003.
