Cornell Completes Purchase of Colorado Women's Facility
HOUSTON, May 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Cornell Companies, Inc. (NYSE:CRN) announced today that it has completed the purchase of the Brush Correctional Facility from GRW Corporation. The transaction closed on April 30, 2007, and Cornell has assumed operation of the facility beginning May 1. Total consideration paid for the 270-bed women's facility was approximately $8.9 million, which the company funded through available working capital.
Global Locate: International Trade Commission Votes to Institute Investigation Against SiRF
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Global Locate, Inc., a leading provider of GPS chips, software and network services, announced today that the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) in Washington, D.C. instituted a patent infringement investigation against SiRF Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:SIRF) and four of its customers: E-TEN Corporation ("E-TEN"), Pharos Science & Applications, Inc. ("Pharos"), MiTAC International Corporation ("MiTAC"), and Mio Technology Limited, USA ("Mio"). The investigation was instituted on the basis of a Complaint filed with the ITC by Global Locate, Inc. against SiRF and the four customers. The complaint alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the United States of certain GPS devices and products that infringe patents owned by Global Locate. The complainant requests that the ITC issue a permanent exclusion order and permanent cease and desist orders. Administrative Law Judge Robert L. Barton, Jr. will preside over the investigation.
