An analysis conducted by economists at Arizona State University finds that, under a variety of possible scenarios, the cost of tomatoes to American consumers will rise dramatically if the U.S. Department of Commerce withdraws from the Tomato Suspension Agreement on May 7. Unless the U.S. approves a new Agreement, it will impose substantial duties the import of Mexican tomatoes.
