Submit a News Release
It is important that GlobeNewswire receive your news release in the best possible way in order to distribute it with the utmost accuracy and in the most time-efficient manner possible. We can receive your release in any format via upload or by email.
Please note these important aspects of processing, necessary in sending your release:
- Your release must include three things:
A) Headline -- which must include the company being spoken of in the release (ABC Corp. Announces Dividend). GlobeNewswire will add the company to the headline if it is not provided, i.e. ABC Corp.: Dividend Announcement;
B) Dateline -- the City of origination as well as the State or Country of that City: Paris, France or Paris, Texas. The dateline also includes the date the news release will be distributed, it cannot have a date other than the date of issue; and
C) Contact(s) -- the company name, media contact and phone number of the person who can speak to the media regarding information in the release:
ABC Corp., Paris
John Doe, CEO
123-456-7890
Your release cannot be distributed without the above information and the Editor working on the release will call to get this information if it is not provided.
NOTE: Probably the most important part of this process, especially if you are a traded company, is to put your stock symbol in the body of the press release -- right after the first mention of your company's name is preferred. It is important that this procedure is followed as most databases and online services 'store' your release based on the stock symbol, especially financial databases/online services (Yahoo, CBS MarketWatch). If you DO NOT want your stock symbol in the release, please let the Editor assigned to your release know this; we will not put the symbol in, nor look it up, so it is imperative that you make sure we know your symbol and exchange.
- Distribution instructions: Basically, where and when you would like your news release distributed based on the circuits offered by GlobeNewswire and any date and time you would like it released. For the Where, it is important to know that you will need to provide us the Circuit if the release is to be distributed to the wires, and the names of the fax/email lists that you have with GlobeNewswire, if any. Lists are not the same as Circuits. Lists refer specifically to fax and email lists. The Circuit is the actual distribution over the wire via GlobeNewswire's satellite feed to AP. "Send to all lists" does not indicate a wire distribution, but "send nationally and to all lists" does; also, "send to our usual distribution" would work here as well.
GlobeNewswire can also "Hold" your release for as long as you like. It will not be sent without the express, verbal approval of the contact assigned to approve the release; again, we do not take approval via email or fax, it must be given over the phone to an Editor.
Want to see your release before it is distributed? Simply log in to the Customer Service Center, from the pull down menu under News Releases select "Queued Releases"
- Processing your release: It is important to note that the Editor who calls you back or replies to your email may not be the one working on your actual release. Therefore, be sure to reply to any email you receive from GlobeNewswire to the desk address releases@globenewswire.com. This will ensure your request's being dealt with right away in the event an Editor is away from their desk and email. Edits should be directed to the entire desk as the Editor who was dealing with your release at the start may not be the one working on it at the end.
