Norway's Largest Dairy Company TINE Norske Mejerier BA Chooses Intentia as a Strategic Partner in the Establishment of an e-business Solution

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 23, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- During recent years, Intentia Norway has been very successful and has carried out a number of successful deals. Large customers include Raufoss, Ringnes and Skretting. Earlier in March, the Elkem Group selected Intentia as its provider of both enterprise application and e-business. "We have won all of the large deals recently and, on the whole, we see this as a testimony to the combination of high employee competence at Intentia and Movex's superior functionality," commented Markus Jakobsson, Managing Director Intentia Sweden and Norway.

Intentia believes that the reason for its success is its strategy of having close cooperation with the customer. Intentia actively proceeds from the customer's business processes and, in an early phase, carries out dialog with the customer in order to determine the best solution for the customer. In the January 15, 2001 edition of the Norwegian business newspaper Finansavisen, one can, for example, read about Intentia customer Elkem's demands on and expectations of its supplier. "Elkem usually carries out projects to verify profitability. A long-term relationship has become the litmus test. This also applies to Intentia, who has supplied our e-business solution. The test has made us confident in Intentia's technology," said Espen Falla, IT Director for Elkem.

TINE has been an Intentia customer since 1995. The new deal includes the development and implementation of TINE's e-business processes. To a large extent, the contract is a project order with relatively few licenses in relation to consultant contributions.

TINE Mejerier is the production, sales and marketing organization for dairy operations in Norway and is responsible for, among other things, product development, quality control, production and distribution planning, marketing and export of TINE products. TINE'S dairy unit is Norway's largest food and beverage industry with approximately 5,000 employees and an annual turnover of NOK 10.8 billion. The dairy enterprise is collectively owned by 25,000 milk producers. The TINE dairies together run 60 installations throughout Norway.

TINE has made a strategic decision in selecting Movex for its business-critical processes. The choice of Intentia as supplier for both projects is justified in that Intentia provides an integrated solution for both upgrading Movex and, at the same time, developing TINE's important e-business processes. This integrated solution was decidedly significant in TINE's selection of Movex and Intentia. The coordination between the two projects means that TINE's internal resources can now be used for both projects simultaneously. TINE was of the opinion that it would not be possible to carry out two parallel projects at the same time with different suppliers.

"The best solution for TINE is to combine the forces of both projects into one common project," says Harek Skotnes, Logistics Director for TINE Norske Mejerier.

Intentia Norway, despite the appearance of an overflowing order book, is still hungry for new contracts. Negotiations are currently underway for a number of other large deals. The fact that several large deals have been signed recently has motivated the entire Intentia organization, not just Intentia Norway. "Every new deal is a tough challenge where the customer's situation and needs are always placed first, which is how we will always do it," concludes Bjorn Storegjerde, Intentia Norway.
