Martin Hagbyhn New president at Kockums

MALMO, Sweden, July 3, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Martin Hagbyhn, from Malmo, has been appointed as the new president of Kockums AB. He succeeds Hans Hedman, who has retired. Martin Hagbyhn is currently business area head at PartnerTech AB, and will take up his new position after the summer. Kockums' Executive Vice President Anders Edwardsson will serve as acting president until that time.

Martin Hagbyhn, 43 years old, is an engineering graduate from Chalmers Institute of Technology, specialised in the energy sector. He is also a qualified naval engineer. He has been with PartnerTech AB since 1999, which he joined as marketing director. He has played an active role in building up the Group in its present form, and is now head of business area Telecom Infrastructure.

Hagbyhn has earlier held leading positions at several companies, including Trelleborg Industri AB and SKF. He has considerable international business experience, including responsibilities such as head of Technical Support for SKF Australia and for implementation of the Trelleborg Group's venture in Shanghai, China, involving the establishment of a rubber factory.

Kockums' Vice Chairman Claes Tornberg, who has been involved in the recruitment process, comments:

"We are very happy at having been able to engage Martin Hagbyhn as president of Kockums. He has the personal qualities and the international experience which make him the right man to lead Kockums high-tech business operations. The challenge is to ensure that Kockums, within the framework of the HDW Group, will also in future continue to develop as a Swedish centre of competence, with respect to both submarines and surface vessels."
