Stylish sewing machine range premiers in Jonkoping on 18th August
HUSKVARNA, Sweden, August 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- VSM Group: Clean lines, rounded corners and light Scandinavian colours. The role of design in society is growing - even when it comes to choosing a sewing machine.
The VSM Group, which has its headquarters and production in Huskvarna, was very aware of this when they designed their new Platinum sewing machine range due for launch at a large retailers' convention at Elmia in Jonkoping on Monday, 18th August. The range offers uncommonly good-looking computerised sewing machines under the Husqvarna Viking brand; the hope is that the new machines will generate increased sales in Sweden and abroad. "People who come to us are not only interested in sewing but also colour and form in general terms," says Astrid Engstrand-Holmer, PR and marketing officer at the VSM Group's Swedish subsidiary, VSM Sverige. The Platinum range comprises four different, user-friendly models with a sewing guide, a needle threader, a memory to help the user combine longer seams and letters together with lots of other useful functions, including perfectly balanced button holes. The Platinum Plus model can also embroider letters and the thousands of readymade pieces of embroidery created by the VSM Group's employees all over the world. You can also create your own motif on a computer and your sewing machine will embroider it for you. "With a Platinum sewing machine you can concentrate on creating patterns, and choosing material and colours and let the machine take care of the rest. These machines are perfect for people wishing to create a personal fashion outside the control of the fashion industry, or for people wishing to sew artistic patchwork quilts", concludes Astrid Engstrand-Holmer.
