FieldTurf Appoints RS Global as Southwest Representative

DALTON, Ga., Sept. 22, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- RS Global, Inc. of Dallas, Texas has been appointed as exclusive representative for FieldTurf stadium fields in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Arizona. RS Global will market and install FieldTurf systems as FieldTurf Southwest.

According to FieldTurf CEO John Gilman, the appointment was necessary to keep up the explosive demand for FieldTurf playing fields in this territory. "The demographics of the Southwest, combined with water shortages, the growth of soccer participation, and the traditional emphasis on athletics, particularly football, are unique there," said Gilman. "We needed a top notch sales and installation organization willing to handle business that, frankly, is reaching a feverish pace. RS Global brings this capability along with a willingness to work hard for its customers."

Founded by Scott Shaw and Dan Jameson in 1992, RS Global is a leader in several niche markets in the sports surfacing business. RS Global manufactures more golf range mats than any company in the industry and sells the mats through a variety of dealers, including Golf Smith.

For years, RS Global has also had a viable business selling and installing synthetic turf for specialty markets like batting cages, indoor football and baseball workout areas, indoor soccer fields, baseball diamonds, goalmouths and golf applications. "They have single-handedly developed the market for used Astroturf which led them to more turf applications," noted FieldTurf's Vice President of Marketing Troy Squires. "This is a natural step in their evolution."

In 2002, RS Global entered the stadium turf business in a serious way when it hired Chuck Bailey, as Sales Manager. "Bailey is an industry veteran who has sold fields for the past 15 years to clients like the Kingdome in Seattle, the Louisiana Superdome, Oregon, Oregon State, University of North Texas, Texas A&M, Hawaii, UTEP, SMU, Oklahoma State, Tulane and many other high schools and colleges throughout the country."

RS Global President, Scott Shaw praised FieldTurf's product and reputation. "We wanted to be associated with the industry leader, of course," said Shaw. "We competed against FieldTurf in the past, and we know quite well how great the product is. If clients want natural grass, they should want FieldTurf. Only FieldTurf, with its patented fabric and sand/rubber filling, gives you this kind of performance. We are committed to continuing this great tradition in our territory."

RS Global's sales ability has already been in evidence as they recently signed a contract to install FieldTurf for the prestigious Prestonwood Christian School in Dallas. "They stepped in when another turf company dropped the ball and failed to perform," said Squires. "RS Global rallied all of their resources to ensure that the kids at Prestonwood got to play their home games at their new stadium. That's the kind of representative we want in the Southwest."

In addition to Chuck Bailey, Dan Jameson and Scott Shaw, RS Global/FieldTurf Southwest's sales representatives include Bryan Cox and Benny Dixon. Dixon was the Director of Athletics at Tulsa Union High School for almost 20 years, heading one of the state's premier athletic programs and the first high school field in the state to purchase synthetic turf.

FieldTurf is a privately held company that has revolutionized the artificial turf industry with its patented products and installation technologies.
