Pete Cirrintano Joins FieldTurf as Mid-America Director of Sales

MONTREAL, Oct. 6, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Pete Cirrintano has been hired by FieldTurf Mid-America as its stadium sales manager for the Midwest region. FieldTurf Mid-America is the stadium turf division of Byrne and Jones Construction, which is FieldTurf's licensee for Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas, along with parts of Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee.

"Pete is a great addition because of his record and reputation in this area of the country -- both for selling turf fields and through his experience in coaching and athletic administration," said FieldTurf Vice-President/Marketing Troy Squires. "Pete's experience in corporate development is invaluable. He knows what it takes to sell a big ticket item like FieldTurf to high schools and colleges -- he's been there."

Cirrintano, based in Kansas City, joins FieldTurf after a stint as Director of Sales, Midwest Division, for Sprinturf. "I love the concept of synthetic turf, but I felt it was imperative to be associated with the industry leader," said Cirrintano. "That's FieldTurf. They have the best product out there and they are so committed to quality and innovation. I just couldn't turn down an opportunity to join the 'varsity.'"

FieldTurf's record for on-time delivery and its commitment to product quality and customer service were keys to Cirrintano's decision. "All I have is my personal integrity and my reputation," continued Cirrintano. "I can't allow my customers to be disappointed, short-changed or forced to settle for late or poorly installed fields. Unfortunately, there are a lot of disappointed customers out there, and I can't afford to be associated with broken promises or lack of performance. I studied FieldTurf's record and its product intensely before I made a move, and I'm extremely happy with both."

Prior to his work in turf sales, Cirrintano held various positions in coaching and athletic administration. He was an assistant coach at both the University of Minnesota and at Arkansas State. Cirrintano helped lead Arkansas State to a championship in 1970. At the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Cirrintano was Assistant Director of UMKC's Athletic Foundation. He was also the Director of Development for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City. Cirrintano has achieved notable success in developing strong support from the corporate community. He also spent time in development working with the Greater Kansas City basketball and football coaches associations, and the Negro League Baseball Museum, which is based in Kansas City.
