Association for Women in Technology Honors Local Industry Professionals as 'Woman of the Month'

Local Nonprofit Applauds Female Role Models in Technology Professions


IRVINE, Calif., March 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Association for Women in Technology, Southern California (AWT), today announced its Woman of the Month recipients for the months of November 2003 through March 2004. Recipients for the respective months include Linda Hummel, Sun Microsystems; Christine Bock, Bock Communications, Inc.; Donna Holt, HelpDeskXlence; Sylvie Lawrence, Sylvie Lawrence Bookkeeping Services; and Joanne Smith, Ballantyne, Inc. Individuals were recognized by AWT for their leadership roles within the organization and in the community, as well as empowering women to be successful in technology fields.

"Our monthly award applauds outstanding women who possess true leadership among peers in their field and support AWT's mission of enabling women to advance in careers in technology," said Cynthia Cotteta, president of AWT. "These women have demonstrated their on-going commitment to AWT's mission through their proactive participation as volunteers in our organization and their dedication of time, energy and talent to help us manage our programs and events. We congratulate our Woman of the Month recipients."
