Absoft Announces New Common License Manager

Low Cost Multi-Platform License Management for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Jan. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Absoft Corporation has announced general availability of its new, low-cost Common License Manager (CLM) version 1.0. This easy-to-use License Manager includes a client library, a license server and management tools which simplify license management for almost any application or library from standard floating license and upgrade license management to advanced license management on HPC clusters. CLM is secure within a highly customizable framework allowing any mixture of Linux, OS X, and Windows licenses to be managed from a single server or over a network. This exclusive CLM feature adds convenience for customers and allows software manufacturers to offer novel, more effective multi-platform licensing options for their clients.

"Absoft's Common License Manager increases flexibility by offering developers and customers more options. It operates within all of today's leading environments, greatly simplifying software management and saving time and money for developers and customers. CLM is completely non-invasive to the customer and can be used to improve costs and efficiency in homogeneous and heterogeneous network environments," said Wood Lotz, President of Absoft. "CLM is the single solution for a great variety of software management applications for developers who want to offer flexibility to their customers, and for their customers who require simple, secure and reliable software management," Lotz added.

Earlier versions of CLM have undergone testing with Absoft Fortran products for Mac OS X, Linux-x86, Linux-x64, Linux on POWER(tm) and Windows XP during the past 12 months. CLM is now being used to manage compilers manufactured by Absoft and IBM Corporation and also in other commercial tools in Absoft's newly announced High Performance Software Development Kit (HPC SDK) for Linux on POWER clusters. Versions of CLM for AMD64 and EM64T environments are being tested by major software manufacturers for enabling their products with CLM license management.

Absoft's Common License Manager (CLM) version 1.0 is available for delivery February 1st at special introductory limited-time prices starting at $300. Special pricing is available for volume purchases. Product and ordering information are at www.absoft.com/Products/Tools/clm.html.
