'Blockbuster Busted,' Claims Wi-Fi TV Boss, Global Media's Debate to be Webcast Live This Sunday

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 1, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wi-Fi TV Inc. (Pink Sheets:WFTV) Chairman Alex Kanakaris, in yet another move to provoke an open debate, called on top-ranking officials of Blockbuster and Hollywood Video to justify their position on the future of the delivery of home entertainment to listeners of the nationally syndicated Business of Success talk radio show. Over the last two weeks listeners of the radio show have been both entertained and captivated by the Wi-Fi TV Chairman's claims that internet delivery will kill the video store. In a previous interview Kanakaris called the video moguls dinosaurs on the verge of extinction and outlined a new business model where movies would be delivered over-the-Internet and revenues would be collected in subscriber and pay-per-view options.

Host of the Global Media produced radio show Business of Success, Alan Rothman, today stated that interest from listeners was now too big to the issue let rest without giving a right of reply to those in the firing line. Confirming that moves had been made to invite spokespersons from both Blockbuster and Hollywood Video to answer Kanakaris' charges, Rothman said, "This has become like a David and Goliath story for our listeners. Their level of expectation for a more open discussion has now gone beyond what I thought was just a good story at the time. All that has happened is that Kanakaris' position has been reinforced by numerous media pundits and no one from either Blockbuster of Hollywood Video has stepped up to defend their position."

Explaining why he felt the story had gathered such interest, the radio show host said, "Perhaps the interest is due to the fact that it narrowly preempted the demise of the Blockbuster and Hollywood Video merger. Or, perhaps our listeners actually believe that that the DVD is on its way to the graveyard. Whatever the reason, there is now more than enough interests to carry this story further. Our listeners are interested and want to hear more."

The radio show, which is broadcast and webcast every Sunday for 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. PST and can be heard at www.businessofsuccess.com, has been inundated with requests from listeners to hear more from the charismatic Kanakaris. Host Alan Rothman added, "Consumers will ultimately decide what works best for them. They'll either vote with their feet, or just click on a mouse. But one thing is for sure, they'll always demand premium content with premium convenience."
