Munters Receives Three Large Contracts for Marine Diesel Emission Control

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- The shipbuilder Aker Finnyards has placed an order for Munters SCR Converter System intended for three new buildings at the shipyard in Rauma, Finland. Each system consists of SCR catalysts for two main engines and two auxiliary engines with a total output of 21 MW.

Munters system reduces emission of NOx by 90 percent, and also other pollutants such as carcinogenic polyaromatic hydrocarbons are significantly reduced. The deliveries will take place in the second half of 2005 regarding the first two ship sets and the third set will be delivered in the second quarter 2006.

The RoRo ships (Roll-on Roll-off) were ordered by Rederi AB Transatlantic (former B&N Nordsjofrakt AB) and are specialized to carry paper products from Finland to Sweden. The SCR catalysts are designed with a patented internal shock absorption system due to the severe ice conditions of the Gulf of Bothnia.

The total value of the orders is 9 million SEK.
