Major Telecommunications Company Selects Fluke Networks as Key Supplier for Video Services Roll Out

NetDSL Bulk VDSL Qualification System Will be Deployed in Nationwide Service Upgrade Program

EVERETT, Wash., June 6, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- A major telecommunications company has named Fluke Networks its primary supplier of copper-pair VDSL (Very-high-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line) qualification equipment as the company expands next-generation communication services to its subscriber base.

Fluke Networks said the telecommunications company would be deploying Fluke Networks' NetDSL Bulk VDSL Qualification System across the entire company footprint in order to pre-qualify and condition the plant for high-speed video and data services. This investment in the NetDSL solution represents a significant commitment to the NetDSL product and recognizes the product's ability to reliably and cost-effectively qualify the existing copper network to deliver high-speed VDSL based services. The NetDSL solution will ensure rapid service deployment and high customer satisfaction. The deal involves the company's recently announced plans to deliver triple-play services to 18 million households by the end of 2007.

Ed Sztuka, Fluke Networks' Telecom Business Unit Director, stated that the telecommunications company's organizational familiarity with Fluke Networks' DaVaR(r) system will speed deployment of the new NetDSL solution throughout the company's footprint. "We are delighted to be an integral part of this project. NetDSL will help our customers rapidly deploy next-generation ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) and VDSL based services and in this case, they will directly benefit from the existing DaVaR Field Records Verification program they have been operating since 2002."

"Fluke Networks NetDSL solution allows Telecommunication Service Operators to rapidly pre-qualify and condition the plant in targeted deployment areas, enabling them to expedite and guarantee service delivery to their customers. Fluke Networks expertise in copper loop testing, loop records management and work force management helped create a system that brings maximum benefit to our customers' efforts to offer new services to their customers," Sztuka concluded.
