Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. Receives Patent Pending Docket Number on Its New Lamp Power Control and Dimming Technology


BOULDER, Colo., June 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ENYC), a landmark technology company ("Econ"), has received the assignment of a patent pending docket number from the US patent office for a new patent to maintain constant power to a gas discharge lamp regardless of the electrical fluctuations in the power supply. Gas discharge lamps include fluorescent lamps and high-pressure sodium and metal halide lamps used in high ceiling lighting applications, such as warehouses and street lighting. In addition, the new technology will allow dimming and establish a significant cost advantage for Econ's HID electronic ballast.

Econ's new patent pending invention is a unique economical method that solves the problem of maintaining constant power to gas discharge lamps as they age or electrical power fluctuates. Less efficient, older gas discharge lamps require more energy to produce the same amount of light. Constant power maintenance into a gas discharge lamp means better lumen maintenance, that is, average light output remains the same throughout the life of the lamp.

Compared to magnetic ballasts, ECON's new invention will increase the operating life and performance of gas discharge lamps, especially HID lamps. It will also lower maintenance costs (labor costs to remove and install lamps and ballasts can exceed the actual lamp and ballast cost). The dimming feature will save additional electrical energy, when applied, adding to the cost savings and thus shorten the pay back period for the replacement of inefficient magnetic HID ballasts and the installations of ECON's electronic HID ballast.

Econ's new breakthrough technology for maintaining constant power into a lamp will cost only a fraction to manufacture relative to what is now available in the current marketplace. It will perform better at a lower price and increase the durability of a combined lamp-ballast operation.
