NEW YORK, July 29, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telestone Technologies Corporation (AMEX:TST) announced on June 27 that it has been awarded a one-year $1.2 million contract from China Mobile to enhance outdoor wireless signal coverage in Gui Zhou, a southwest province in the Peoples Republic of China.
According to the contract, commencing in the second half of 2005, Telestone will provide and install a series of wireless coverage products, including repeaters and tower amplifiers, throughout China Mobile's GSM networks in Gui Yang, An Shuan, Du Yun, Zun Yi and other Gui Zhou cities.
The products will serve to improve mobile phone reception quality in varied outdoor locales, including expressways and tunnels.
Telestone will also provide China Mobile with ongoing engineering service and system maintenance for the length of the contract.
Today's announcement, which follows a May 26 announcement of a $2.5 million wireless coverage contract from China Mobile for Xin Jiang province, is the next step in Telestone's strategic plan to expand its wireless coverage business in the PRC's underdeveloped western regions.
Telestone and China Mobile have previously collaborated on five other wireless projects in Gui Zhou, making Telestone a leader in that province's signal coverage market.

The Chinese government is currently working with China Mobile and the PRC's second largest wireless provider, China Unicom, to implement broad wireless communications infrastructure development in the PRC's western regions.
