Cord Blood and Tissue Banking Operations Enhanced at New National Stem Cell Laboratory Services, Inc.


NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The cord blood and tissue banking operations of National Stem Cell Holding, Inc (Pink Sheets:NHGI) will be centralized under the newly-created subsidiary National Stem Cell Laboratory Services, Inc., a Maryland corporation. Based in Baltimore, the new company will manage National Stem Cell's umbilical cord blood banking initiative and will augment the tissue banking and reproductive services currently offered at its New York and New Jersey locations.

The development of the laboratory will be directed by Jacob Cohen, National Stem Cell COO and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. "This new state-of-the-art facility will enhance our capacity for both processing and storage of cord blood and other tissue," Cohen stated, "and will be functionally designed to increase the breadth and depth of our stem cell research."

The National Stem Cell Laboratory Services facility will be located in close proximity to Johns Hopkins University, with whom the company maintains sponsored research agreements. The facility will be FDA, AABB, and AATB approved and cGMP/cGTP certified.
