Vocalscape Announces Client-Server Model Softphone

New Carrier-Class Eyefon Softphone Allows Greater Control Over Accounts and Streamlines Upgrade Process

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Vocalscape Networks, Inc. (OTCBB:VOSC) (Vocalscape), a leading provider of Internet telephony solutions, today announced a new version of their award-winning softphone, the Eyefon(tm). The new version incorporates carrier-class features that will appeal to service providers wishing to deploy Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to large numbers of customers.

The new version uses a client-server model that gives service providers more power to manage their customer accounts. For example, the new client-server softphone allows carriers to control access to their systems through their database. Once an account has been deactivated, users can no longer log into the service to receive incoming calls or make free calls to other customers using the service. This prevents unwanted access and strain on their servers and network connections allowing them to deliver better quality service to paying customers.

In addition to allowing greater control over who accesses the service, the new softphone also streamlines the process of deploying new versions of the software. "Vocalscape is pleased to announce a new and improved version of our Eyefon softphone," said Ron McIntyre, President of Vocalscape Networks. "We're always looking for ways to facilitate the delivery of VoIP services. The client-server softphone allows us to provide a more efficient and effective VoIP system to our customers."
