MAHWAH, N.J. and MARTINSRIED/MUNICH, Germany, Jan. 31, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- ADVA Optical Networking today announced the promotion of Dr. Christoph Glingener to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
In this newly created position, Christoph Glingener becomes the fifth member of the ADVA Optical Networking executive management team. As CTO, he will lead the company's strategic product development efforts, in addition to all engineering, research and development activities across sites in Europe, the United States and China. He first joined ADVA Optical Networking in April 2006 and took the position of vice president of global engineering.
Christoph Glingener brings to ADVA Optical Networking a long and extensive background in optical and Ethernet networking product development and research, gained at Marconi Communications (now Ericsson) and Siemens AG. In his most recent position at Marconi/Ericsson, Dr. Glingener led the wireless product unit, focusing on strategic product roadmaps, product management, engineering, new product introduction and procurement. Prior to Marconi/Ericsson, Dr. Glingener worked in the optical and transport network divisions of Siemens Information and Communication Networks in Germany. He led systems engineering for the company's optical and electrical switching and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) products, and directed research for the DWDM group.
