PDF Solutions' CEO Receives 2007 ISQED Quality Award

John Kibarian is Recognized for His Contributions to Quality Design and Design for Manufacturing

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- PDF Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:PDFS), the leading provider of process-design integration technologies to enhance IC manufacturability, today announced that the company's co-founder, CEO and President, Dr. John Kibarian will receive the 2007 International Society for Quality Electronic Design-Quality Award, honoring his contribution to quality design and Design for Manufacturing.

"The ISQED Quality Award was established in 2006 in order to recognize individuals with outstanding contributions to quality in electronic design," says Dr. Ali Iranmanesh, ISQED founding chair and CEO of Silicon Valley Technical Institute (www.svtii.com). "Dr. Kibarian was a clear choice from the start because of his demonstrated leadership in the field of DFM and yield."

Kibarian has served as president of PDF Solutions since its beginning in 1991 and CEO since 2000. PDF Solutions is a pioneer in the fields of DFM and yield improvement. Prior to PDF Solutions' successful development and commercialization of a variety of silicon-proven DFM and yield enhancement solutions, DFM had mainly been a research topic at universities and labs. Today, PDF is a leading provider of DFM and yield enhancement solutions, used by many of today's leading IC companies. The PDF Solutions approach to DFM and yield ramps is based on pro-active simulation of IC yield loss and accurate characterization of specific process-design failure mechanisms using advanced Characterization Vehicle(r) (CV(r)) test chip products.

Prior to PDF Solutions, Kibarian was a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University's SEMATECH Center for Rapid Yield Learning, where he developed algorithms for diagnosing process variations based on electrical test data, yield maximization based on circuit optimization, and statistical process and device simulation. Kibarian was a co-recipient of the IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing Best Paper award in 1991 and 1996 and holds patents in the areas of yield prediction, test structures, and DFM. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, all from Carnegie Mellon University.

The ISQED award luncheon will be held March 27, 2007 at the Double Tree Hotel, in San Jose, CA.

About ISQED

The International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED) is a premier Design & Design Automation conference, aimed at bridging the gap between and integration of: electronic design tools and processes, integrated circuit technologies, processes and manufacturing in order to achieve design quality. ISQED is the pioneer and leading conference dealing with design for manufacturability and quality issues. The conference provides a forum to present and exchange ideas and to promote the research, development, and application of design techniques and methods, design processes, EDA design methodologies and EDA tools that address issues impacting the quality of the realization of designs into physical integrated circuits. ISQED emphasizes a holistic approach toward design quality and highlights and accelerates cooperation among the IC Design, EDA, Semiconductor Process Technology and Manufacturing communities. For more information regarding the upcoming ISQED events visit http://www.isqed.org

ISQED is produced and sponsored by the International Society for Quality Electronic Design.
