Houston Association of Black Journalists Announces Making the Media Work for You Annual Event

News Breakers and News Makers Share Expertise and Best Practices for Getting Media Coverage

 WHAT:         The Houston Association of Black Journalists (HABJ)
               presents its annual interactive seminar "Making the
               Media Work for You." This year, HABJ requested top
               leaders in the communications industry -- the "news
               makers and news breakers" -- to lead working sessions.
               These sessions are designed to provide small businesses
               and community-based, nonprofit organizations the tools
               needed to effectively gain access to the media for news
               coverage or to successfully promote their products or
               services in the market. The six sessions include:
               Developing a Media Plan and Collateral Materials that
               Service Your Plan, What Makes the News: The Process of
               Determining the News, Best Practices to Get the Media
               to Work for You, Getting Your Story Covered in the
               Print Media, Leveraging Your Purchasing Power and
               Covering the Story from an Anchor's Perspective.

               The seminar is free to small business and
               community based organizations that registered
