"The Goleft.tv festival will be the first ever online film festival devoted exclusively to progressive documentary films," said GoLeft.tv partner Michael Lynch. The goal of the festival is to raise awareness and spur activism in relation to the issues addressed by each film. The entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts, and political and legal progressive advocates including Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., environmental attorney and co-host of Ring of Fire on Air America Radio, Mike Papantonio, founder of GoLeft.tv, television commentator and co-host of Ring of Fire and Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, directors of the Oscar nominee "Jesus Camp."

The first-place prize for best full-length documentary (20 minutes or longer) is $4,000 and the first-place prize for the best short documentary (less than 20 minutes) is $2,000.

All entries must be postmarked by August 31, 2007. All filmmakers will receive notification via email of inclusion into the festival by September 15, 2007. For more information, please visit http://www.goleft.tv/festival.asp.

Lynch also announced that GoLeft.tv is inviting creators of progressive satire and environmental news to make GoLeft.tv their home.
