Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. Initiates Manufacturing and Sale of Its Electronic HID Ballasts

BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 8, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (ECTI), a landmark technology company (Pink Sheets:ENYC), will begin the volume manufacturing of its energy-saving electronic ballasts for high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps for sale in the North American market on September 10, 2007.

ECTI will initially focus its sales efforts on the outdoor and streetlight markets. In North America, there are approximately 150 million outdoor light fixtures that need to be upgraded to electronic HID ballasts. ECTI's electronic ballasts will reduce operating costs as much as $70 per year per light fixture. ECTI products are not only technologically superior but also cost competitive with the other available electronic HID ballasts.

ECTI is well positioned to fulfill the needs of the emerging HID electronic ballast market and projects a combined licensee/partnership sales of $150 million dollars per year by 2012. In order to fund anticipated manufacturing and sales growth, the company is currently pursuing several avenues to secure additional investment capital.

ECTI's patented electronic HID ballasts cut energy use by as much as 50%, reduce maintenance costs and provide superior light for enhanced visibility. Since January 2007, ECTI has manufactured products for test installations in the streetlights of several North American cities in order to collect product-performance and reliability data. "The results exceeded our expectations. We are now ready to expand our manufacturing and generate revenue," said Fazle Quazi, Chairman of the Board and President of ECTI. He further stated, "This is a very exciting time for our company and our shareholders. We anticipate strong sales growth as global demands for energy-saving products continue to rise."
