Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. Installs its Energy Saving HID Electronic Ballasts in Sheridan, Wyoming

BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 24, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (ECTI), a landmark technology company (Pink Sheets:ENYC), recently retrofitted and installed its energy-saving electronic ballasts in the decorative streetlights of Sheridan, Wyoming. These streetlights use high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps for illumination.

Whitney Benefits, Inc. and the City of Sheridan will jointly monitor this test installation for energy savings and light quality. ECTI's patented product technology is more advanced, cost competitive, reliable, and substantially more energy efficient than magnetic ballasts. In addition, unlike its competitors, ECTI's innovative and patented ballast housing design allows simpler retrofit to existing light fixtures.

Fazle Quazi, Econ's Chairman, stated, "Our low-frequency electronic ballasts for 100W HPS lamps were easily retrofitted into the existing decorative light fixtures. They are now providing much-improved lighting in one section of Sheridan. Our ballasts will save more than 20% energy, as well as provide two years longer lamp life, superior visibility, and less light pollution. The success of this installation will lead to substantial sales of our products in the near future."

Sheridan, Wyoming and other North American test installations are part of ECTI's product marketing and commercialization plan. In anticipation of rapid sales growth, ECTI is pursuing several avenues to secure funding for expanding its manufacturing operation.

About Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (www.econpower.com)

ECTI holds patents and has patent-pending status for the energy-saving technologies invented and developed by its founder, Fazle Quazi. Over the past 20 years, Quazi has generated 16 national and international patents. He also pioneered fluorescent dimming electronic ballasts in the late eighties and is one of the world's leading power-conversion engineers.

ECTI is located in Boulder, Colorado. ECTI's energy-saving products and technology applications include electronic ballasts for high-intensity discharge (HID) and fluorescent lamps, as well as inverters for wind generators, solar panels and fuel cells. The annual market for each of these products is projected to be in billions.

At present, the primary focus of ECTI is to expand its manufacturing operation and to market its HID electronic ballasts. HID lamps are used for large area illuminations such as streetlights, parking garages, airports, shopping malls and convention halls. ECTI's electronic HID ballast line consists of ballasts for 20W-400W high-pressure sodium, ceramic, and pulse start metal halide lamps.
