LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Teamsters Local 396 ratified a new five-year contract agreement with Waste Management (NYSE:WMI) of the Greater Los Angeles Area ending a strike that Teamsters rank and file began on Oct. 19, 2007, the company announced today.
The new contract covers 470 drivers, mechanics, and bin shop personnel who provide solid waste collection, recycling, and processing services for greater Los Angeles County.
The new contract approved today is identical to the offer made by Waste Management and endorsed by union leadership prior to the strike.
