Medica 2007: BodyTel Scientific Presents First Integrated Telehealth-Solution for Blood Sugar Monitoring and Diabetes Self-Management

HENDERSON, Nev., Nov. 12, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- BodyTel Scientific, Inc. (OTCBB:BDYT), a developer of wireless telemedical measuring devices, announced that management will be presenting the GlucoTel telehealth solution at the international medical fair, Medica 2007, from November 14-17, 2007 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The company's blood glucose monitoring and diabetes self-management system will be demonstrated at hall 3, booth E42. BodyTel Scientific is in the process of preparing for the commercial launch of GlucoTel in all CE-relevant markets, anticipated in the first quarter of 2008.

"GlucoTel offers a user-friendly telemedical self-management system for patients with diabetes," states Stefan Schraps, CEO of BodyTel. "Mobile phones are always at hand these days. Our blood glucose meter sends the blood sugar value via Bluetooth to the patient's mobile phone. Then the data is processed via text message or internet connection to a password protected internet database, the BodyTel Center. The central point of communication is the mobile phone which receives as well as automatically sends data. It also sends calibration codes and information like date and time to the meter. Additionally, today's mobile phones have large color displays that are ideal to show gradients and add additional information like meals, medication, exercises, etc. Mobile phones can even read out the values loudly if requested which would be extremely beneficial to elderly diabetes patients with poor eye sight."

"The Medica 2007 offers us the perfect opportunity to present the world's first integrated telehealth system, GlucoTel, to industry experts before its market launch," continued Mr. Schraps. The MEDICA trade fair, titled the 39th World Forum for Medicine (www.medica.de), is the world's largest healthcare technologies trade fair. The 2007 MEDICA features the latest medical product developments from around the world and is expected to attract over 4,200 exhibitors from over 60 nations around the world.

The GlucoTel blood glucose meter is part of the BodyTel system, a complete telemedical diabetes self-management system supporting patients and doctors in the treatment of diabetes. The full range of BodyTel's diabetes management system comprises of GlucoTel, PressureTel -- a blood pressure measuring device and WeightTel -- a body weight and body fat scale. All devices transmit values via the patient's mobile phone to the BodyTel Center.
