Last Mile Logistics Group Expands Services With Deliveries for Premier Cabinet Manufacturer

ELKRIDGE, Md., Nov. 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Last Mile Logistics Group, Inc. (OTCBB:LMLG), through its operating subsidiary Chesapeake Logistics, is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract to deliver cabinets to customers' homes for one of the nation's premier cabinet manufacturers. LMLG is receiving the cabinets directly from the manufacturing plants into its warehouse, and then scheduling and delivering the cabinets to the customers' homes in the Mid-Atlantic region. The cabinets are being sold through various retail channels, including the nation's largest home improvement retailers.

The contract for cabinet deliveries opens up a new distribution channel for LMLG, a third party logistics provider focused on the last mile of delivery. LMLG has focused its services primarily on furniture, televisions, bedding and appliances to date. "The U.S. cabinetwork and countertop manufacturing industry is estimated at $23 billion and has been a growing sector of the domestic building material shipments over the past decade. Cabinet deliveries directly to the home are a great fit for our vehicles, since we are already going to these neighborhoods with other consumer goods," says Brian Flood, President of LMLG.

LMLG's services provide a significant benefit to all parties involved. According to Flood, the manufacturer benefits by sending full truckloads directly to LMLG's facility, rather than the previous method of having several drops at a variety of retailers and delivery companies. In addition, Flood shared that "the home improvement retailers also benefit, by limiting the amount of valuable retail space they have to dedicate to handling merchandise. What may be the most significant benefit is streamlining the supply chain to reduce the amount of cabinet handling, and accelerate the order-to-cash cycle for the cabinet manufacturer. Our services should reduce both cabinet damage and the time it takes to get the cabinets to the customer, resulting in a happier customer," said Flood, who continued, "We are very pleased to expand our services into the the residential home improvement markets and believe this will open many other new opportunities."

Residential construction is expected to be down in 2007 as the housing slump continues, but kitchen and bath remodeling is expected to post a modest increase, according to a newly released market analysis by the National Kitchen & Bath Association. According to the NKBA, there were 7.4 million kitchens remodeled last year, along with approximately 10.3 million baths. The NKBA expects a "cautiously optimistic" remodeling forecast of 7.6 million kitchen jobs, and 10.5 million bath jobs this year.
