BodyTel Launches Web Portal for Users of Its Home Diagnostics Devices

HENDERSON, Nev., Nov. 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- BodyTel Scientific Inc. (OTCBB:BDYT), a developer of wireless telemedical devices, announced that the company has re-launched the web portal, www.bodytel.com, with the inclusion of the BodyTel Center. The BodyTel Center is a secure, password-protected area, where users of the company's telemedical devices are provided access to their medical data. For the diabetes self-management system, GlucoTel, it is mainly the blood sugar values; for PressureTel, the blood pressure values; and for WeightTel, the user's weight. BodyTel's first product GlucoTel is expected to be launched in CE-requiring markets in the first quarter of 2008.

"The BodyTel Center establishes the first online platform with an automatic feed of a patient's measured values. For example, there is a wireless transfer of data from the blood sugar meter, GlucoTel, via the patient's cell phone to the internet database," Stefan Schraps, CEO of BodyTel Europe, explains. "Physicians or diabetes consultants can directly access the data during therapy. This is especially important for newly diagnosed diabetes patients, during health-conditioned oscillations, changes of insulin amounts, as well as during the readjustment to insulin pumps. In these phases the patient is in specific need of professional support."

The BodyTel Center functions as an electronic diabetes diary, which facilitates a comprehensive overview of the blood sugar values for both patients and their physicians. Along with this, other important information is provided, like weight, medication, insulin doses or "events" like meals and physical exercise. All data is presented graphically and in color and edited by means of statistic functions.

Patients always remain the owners of their body data and decide for themselves if and for whom they want to permit access. Authorized persons (physicians, family members etc.) can log in at any time with a standard internet browser and their own username and password to view the data. Selected data sets can be saved on the PC and processed by means of common programs like Word or Excel. The internet database is protected from unauthorized access through a password, SSL-encryption (https://...) and firewall security mechanisms. All stored data is being mirrored on another server, which is also highly protected. The security standards of the database are the ones currently applied in online-banking.
