Meijer Selects CommerceHub Platform for E-Commerce Distribution
Virtual Warehouse to Fulfill Online Operations

ALBANY, NY--(Marketwire - February 12, 2008) - CommerceHub, the Supply-on-Demand platform for
supply chain integration and fulfillment solutions, today announced its
implementation of a supplier-direct distribution network for
www.meijer.com, the new e-commerce initiative of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based
Meijer. The e-commerce virtual inventory distribution model enables
meijer.com to present a more expansive product line than offered in the 181
Meijer supercenters, featuring online exclusive products and pricing.
The CommerceHub
Supply-on-Demand
platform provides complete visibility and control to manage the
supplier-direct process with the same level of brand management,
fulfillment performance and customer service Meijer has established in its
retail supercenters. The CommerceHub single
connections for network integration enabled meijer.com to efficiently
on-board and empower suppliers to fulfill orders directly to the end
customer, eliminating the need to physically stock and warehouse inventory
for its online operation.
"With a virtual warehouse of products we are able to bring Meijer 'one stop
shopping' to customers throughout the US," said Tom Nakfoor, VP of
e-commerce for Meijer. "From gift messaging on branded packing slips to
carrier integration for LTL White Glove delivery CommerceHub provides
seamless back end support for the e-commerce operation."
The CommerceHub 'any-to-any' integration translates and normalizes
communications with each supplier, providing purchase orders to each
supplier with all the information required to fulfill the customer order
and create a branded packing slip. Orders sourced to multiple suppliers
create individual purchase orders to each with only the lines they are
expected to fill. Meijer.com is able to track performance of the extended
supply and fulfillment network by monitoring fill rate, orders received and
average confirm time of purchase orders processed through the CommerceHub
platform.
"We welcome the opportunity to support the meijer.com e-commerce
initiative," said Steve Hamlin, CommerceHub CEO, "and are pleased to have
them as a retail partner on our Supply-on-Demand platform."
