Radyne's AeroAstro Awarded $1.2M Asset Tracking Network Infrastructure Contract

PHOENIX, March 19, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Radyne Corporation (Nasdaq:RADN) announced today its AeroAstro business unit has received a $1.2 million order from Globalstar to purchase additional SENS (Sensor Enabled Notification System) Appliques. Globalstar will use these appliques to expand its simplex data network.

"Our AeroAstro division has been very successful at providing Globalstar with the enabling technology for their simplex data network," said Myron Wagner, CEO and President of Radyne. "We look forward to continuing to support Globalstar's expansion with highly reliable, cost effective solutions to their asset tracking and remote monitoring and alarm application needs."

The SENS Applique, an AeroAstro proprietary digital signal processing infrastructure component installed at key Globalstar ground stations, receives and decodes asset tracking and monitoring data from field transmitters via the Globalstar Low Earth Orbit satellite network. The received information is processed and distributed to users through the internet. As part of the order, AeroAstro will provide Globalstar with the applique hardware and software including asset tracking satellite downlink decoder racks and spares kits.

AeroAstro's SENS technology provides a total solution that is uniquely affordable and reliable with ubiquitous coverage over most of the globe. AeroAstro combines infrastructure and asset tag hardware, data portal and communications services, and systems engineering to deliver prices, power savings, compact size and ease of use previously unimaginable from satellite communications.
