Magic Arts & Entertainment Announces Five-Year Partnership With Olympia Entertainment


STUDIO CITY, Calif., Aug. 18, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Magic Arts & Entertainment, a subsidiary of Tix Corporation (Nasdaq:TIXC), today announced its partnership and five-year agreement with Olympia Entertainment to present "My Foxtown Theater Series," the Broadway series at the fabulous Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. The shows included in this upcoming season are Tony-Award winning, critically acclaimed and family favorite shows.

The inaugural season of "My Foxtown Theater Series" goes on sale August 15 as a presale to former ticket buyers, and the public onsale is scheduled for September 12. The shows included in the season are:


 Mannheim Steamroller, December 18 and 19th, 2008
 Hairspray, January 9 through January 11th, 2009
 Jesus Christ Superstar starring Ted Neeley, March 1st, 2009
 Movin' Out, March 27 through March 29th, 2009
 Riverdance, April 8 through April 12th, 2009

This five-year agreement between the two companies also encompasses two other Olympia Entertainment-operated venues including: the Masonic Temple Theatre (4,000 seats) and The City Theatre (400 seats).

Magic Arts & Entertainment is headed by longtime-business partners Lee D. Marshall and Joe Marsh. In 2008, Magic Arts & Entertainment became part of Tix Corporation with Marshall and Marsh assuming the roles of Co-CEO of Tix Productions, a newly-formed subsidiary of Tix Corporation. The Magic office is run out of Cleveland, OH and Salt Lake City, UT.
