Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. Will Exhibit Its Energy-Saving Electronic HID Ballasts At the 2008 Colorado's New Energy Economy Conference

BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 3, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ENYC) will exhibit its energy-saving electronic ballasts for high-intensity gas discharge (HID) lamps at the second annual "Colorado's New Energy Economy" conference scheduled on October 14, 2008 at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colorado. This conference is sponsored by the Colorado Governor's Energy Office (GEO), the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC), the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), and the Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC).

Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (ECT) invents, develops, and markets advanced and affordable energy-conserving products. ECT's current product line consists of patented electronic HID ballasts for high-pressure sodium as well as pulse-start quartz and ceramic metal halide lamps: 20W to 400W, dimming and non-dimming.

Each and every day hundreds of millions of HID lamps and inefficient magnetic ballasts are used worldwide to illuminate our streets, highways, shopping malls, parking lots, and parking garages. When compared to magnetic ballasts, ECT's electronic ballasts can provide as much as 50% energy savings; reduce maintenance costs by 30%; extend lamp life by one third; and, greatly improve quality of light. These benefits translate to an average of a $40 savings in operating costs and a reduction of 500 pounds in greenhouse gases per year per light fixture.

Fazle Quazi, ECT's Chairman stated, "'Colorado's New Energy Economy' conference is designed to provide information about Colorado's energy issues, opportunities, and the Governor's initiative for a New Energy Economy by advancing energy efficiency and renewable, clean energy resources. This conference will be attended by state and local government officials, utilities, private companies, and public organizations. Exhibiting our energy-saving electronic HID ballasts at this conference will provide us with opportunities to promote our products and to boost visibility for our company both within the government and with public utility officials."

About Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc. (www.econpower.com)

ECT is located in Boulder, Colorado. ECT's energy-saving products and technology applications include dimming and non-dimming electronic ballasts for high-intensity discharge (HID) and fluorescent lamps, as well as inverters for wind generators, solar panels, and fuel cells. The annual market for each of these products is projected to be in the billions of dollars.

At present, the primary focus of ECT is to expand its manufacturing operation and to market its HID electronic ballasts. HID lamps are used for large area illuminations such as streetlights, parking garages, airports, shopping malls, and convention halls. ECT's electronic HID ballasts save as much as 50% energy, improve lumen maintenance, increase lamp life, reduce light pollution, and provide better visibility. In new installations, average payback can be as little as 6 months, with significant ongoing cash flow each year afterward.
