BitWave Semiconductor Expands Team With Key Product Management Hire

Navi Miglani Joins as Director of Product Marketing

LOWELL, Mass., Sept. 5, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BitWave Semiconductor has expanded its executive team with the appointment of Navi Miglani as Director of Product Marketing. Miglani joins the BitWave team to lead the effort of implementing marketing strategies across key product segments, launching the BW1102 into the marketplace, and driving product penetration at top tier customers.

Miglani has almost two decades of portable wireless and RF communications industry experience, focused primarily on strategy and product management. He has held senior positions within global corporations, including RF Micro Devices, where he was strategic marketing manager of the Radio Systems Business Unit, and Sychip, where he was marketing director. Additionally, Miglani had held several management positions in the RF and telecommunications units at NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductors).

"Navi has extensive marketing and business development experience in our industry with both established players and start-ups like BitWave," said BitWave CMO and co-founder Russell Cyr. Cyr continued, "With the closing of our recent B-round and our rapid progress toward volume production later this year, BitWave is ready to leverage Navi's strong background and experience. We expect Navi to help accelerate customer traction and drive development of BitWave's Softransceiver Platform."

Miglani commented, "BitWave has developed a truly innovative RF platform that addresses key industry challenges and this is a fantastic time to join the company. As the chip moves from the concept phase to productization and full production, I want to use my experience to guide this process, grow customer relationships and focus BitWave's development work on key customer requirements."

BitWave's BW1102 Softransceiver RFIC is a highly integrated, low power reconfigurable transceiver. Its high level of integration and low power consumption make it suitable for use in a wide range of mobile devices -- handsets, smart phones, PDAs, PC cards, USB dongles -- as well as in fixed devices such at femtocells. BitWave will begin volume shipments of production silicon and software later this year which will, at long last, enable device manufacturers to realize the many benefits of programmable RFICs: shorter design cycles, quicker time to market, simplified RF bill of material, yet continue to meet state of the art benchmarks for cost and performance.

About BitWave Semiconductor

Mobile devices using the Softransceiver can operate on multiple frequencies and communication protocols, giving consumers and businesses a broader choice of networks and services. The Softransceiver allows network operators to offer services on demand and allows manufacturers to build a single, low-cost radio that can be used in any network, anytime, anywhere. All of these benefits are achieved while lowering the total bill of materials, increasing phone battery life and increasing radio performance.
