Epson Debuts Its Seven Color Digital Label Press in North America

New Short Run Digital Press is Demonstrated With Industry-Leading Workflow, Media and Finishing Solutions At Labelexpo Americas 2008 in the Epson Booth #6523

CHICAGO, Sept. 9, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LABELEXPO -- Epson America, Inc. is demonstrating a breakthrough short-run digital label press offered with pre-and post-press options that can be tailored to meet various needs and budgets. By working with industry leading manufacturers on every aspect of digital label production, from color management to media and finishing options, Epson offers a new, open approach that will make the adoption of digital short run printing easier and more profitable for converters.

The Epson digital label press capitalizes on Epson's acclaimed MicroPiezo(r) ink jet technology to create output with smooth gradations and incredible color quality at 720 dpi. Its seven color (C, M, Y, K, Or, Gr, Mk) industrial quality, water-based ink set produces a remarkable range of colors for impressive, professional results. The Epson digital label press also delivers on media versatility by supporting off-the-shelf substrates (no pre-coating required), a wide variety of media stock including semi-gloss, gloss, film and matte label stock up to 0.013" (0.32 mm) in thickness, and rolls from 4 to 13-inches wide.

"The Epson digital label press is a game-changer for short-run label printers," said Anna Jen, director of new business development, Epson America, Inc. "The combination of output quality, media versatility and affordability enables converters to expand their service offerings to include short-run jobs that boost, not hinder, the bottom line. Converters should also see a boost to the productivity of their conventional presses as they transfer short run jobs to the Epson digital press."

To help make adoption of digital printing easier for converters, Epson is working with workflow, media and finishing equipment manufacturers to deliver solutions that address different needs and budgets. Solution providers featured in the Epson booth (#6523) at Labelexpo Americas 2008 include:
