Suspension of market making in Iceland - no impact on trading in Copenhagen
Tórshavn, Faroe Islands 17th October 2008 - P/F Atlantic Petroleum (OMX:
FO-ATLA) the international upstream oil and gas company, today announced, that
the market making on NASDAQ OMX Iceland has been suspended by the market maker
in P/F Atlantic Petroleum shares, P/F Eik Banki.
The suspension does not affect the trading in Atlantic Petroleum shares on
NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen.
P/F Atlantic Petroleum has been informed that due to the unstable conditions on
the Icelandic money transactions market, the market maker in P/F Atlantic
Petroleum shares on NASDAQ OMX Iceland, P/F Eik Banki is unable to guarantee
the security of trading and clearing of transactions of P/F Atlantic Petroleum
shares traded on the NASDAQ OMX Iceland.
Therefore, the market maker, P/F Eik Banki has chosen to suspend the market
making on NASDAQ OMX Iceland until such secure trading and clearing conditions
can be guaranteed.
Commenting on the suspension of market making on NASDAQ OMX Iceland Wilhelm
Petersen, Managing Director of P/F Atlantic Petroleum, said:
“The suspension of the market making on the NASDAQ OMX Iceland is a regrettable
situation for our investors and shareholders in Iceland, but for the time
being, we can point to the NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen for undisturbed trading in P/F
Atlantic Petroleum shares."
