Xandros Solution for Snapdragon Platform Offers Compelling Apps, Low Power Consumption and Ubiquitous Connectivity

BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwire - February 16, 2009) - Mobile World Congress -- Xandros today announced a turnkey software solution with a new, compelling user experience running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon™ mobile computing chipsets that will be demonstrated for the first time at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain, February 16-19, 2009. The Xandros solution for the Snapdragon platform enables mobile OEM vendors and communications carriers to deliver the full power of desktop computing to innovative netbooks and Mobile Computing Devices with low power consumption and ubiquitous 3G connectivity capabilities.

The Xandros solution for Snapdragon chipsets comes with tools to customize its functions and interface for specific markets and user demographics. It also includes a unique, custom brandable online Application Store for access to software, games, multimedia and web applications, enabling one-time and recurring revenue streams for OEMs, service providers and carriers. Full-featured user applications include a browser, push-based email, PIM, instant messaging, a photo viewer, a media player, and an office suite to create and edit Microsoft Office documents. All applications support both keyboards and touch screens, and exhibit consistent appearances and behaviors.
