Spacenet to Highlight New Satellite Solutions At the 8th Annual ISCe Conference in San Diego, CA

MCLEAN, Va., May 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Spacenet Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq:GILT) and one of the world's leading providers of satellite networking solutions, announced that it will be participating in the 8th annual ISCe Conference taking place June 2 - 4, 2009 in San Diego, CA. Spacenet will have a presence through numerous speaking panels, including presentations from one of its Channel Partners and a customer. ISCe provides workshops, panel discussions and keynotes that bring together military leaders, civilian officials and the business community to explore topics that will shape satellite communications over the next few years. Spacenet and industry representatives will present on the role of satellite as an ideal emergency communications solution for a variety of government agencies.

Satellite networks have long been a key technology used by government organizations to provide a variety of communications solutions including primary networks in mission-critical applications, transportable solutions for rapid deployment and disaster recovery, and continuity of operations (COOP). With its ability to provide a last-mile wireless solution that is independent of terrestrial networks, satellite keeps communications running in the face of emergencies, even when local network services are down.

"With the recently available stimulus funding for public safety agencies through the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP), now is an ideal time for government organizations to make satellite an integral part of backup and emergency communications," said Spacenet President and COO Glenn Katz. "I look forward to exploring this topic further at the ISCe Conference through the educational sessions and networking opportunities."

At the show, Spacenet will be participating in two speaking panels that focus on the role of satellite for emergency response. Spacenet Channel Partner, Orbital Data Net (ODN), will also participate on a speaking panel to discuss the role of satellite communications for civilian agencies. In addition, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will discuss its upgraded emergency communications network, which leverages Spacenet's satellite services and ODN's design and technical expertise.

The ISCe Conference is taking place at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina in San Diego CA on June 2 - 4, 2009. For more information, visit http://www.isce.com/.
