City of Slidell Selects Goldleaf's Merchant Remit

Image-Based Remittance/Lockbox Solution Will Reduce Payment Processing Time

ATLANTA, July 21, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Goldleaf Financial Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq:GFSI), a provider of integrated technology-based solutions designed to improve the performance of financial institutions, announced today that the City of Slidell, Louisiana selected its Merchant Remit, an image-based remittance/lockbox system, to improve processing speed and accuracy for check payments.

The City of Slidell processes approximately 5,000 payments per month. Peak days, such as utility bill due-dates, can average as many as 800 payments. By leveraging Goldeaf's Merchant Remit, the city can dramatically reduce the time it devotes to these payments and better allocate its employee resources to other tasks at hand.

John Autry, Information Systems Manager at City of Slidell, explained, "The City of Slidell takes a very active role in interacting with our citizens and selecting Goldleaf's Merchant Remit will free our resources to be even more involved. We are increasing our communication mediums, focusing on community improvement projects and continually developing plans for a better future. Processing payments was taking too much time, and Goldleaf is working with us to rectify that issue with a trusted, proven solution."

"Since Hurricane Katrina, The City of Slidell has worked to refurbish its community, while still maintaining its rich culture and lifestyle," said Lynn Boggs, CEO of Goldleaf. "Our Merchant Remit was designed to streamline high volume payment operations, and it will enable the city to focus its attention on those business issues that are very important; knowing that their payments are being processed with accuracy and efficiency. The solution also has the capacity to grow with the city to meet any new surges in volume with ease."
