MRU-FA Unveiled in San Francisco as Part of the 20th Anniversary Commemoration of the Loma Prieta Earthquake

BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sector 10, Inc. (OTCBB:SECI) (Frankfurt:4SR) announced today that it will unveil its new product, the Mobile Response Unit (MRU) - Fire Apparatus or (MRU-FA) in San Francisco on October 17, 2009 as part of the 20th anniversary commemoration ceremony of the Loma Prieta earthquake. The MRU-FA was specifically designed to support residents, Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams (NERT), Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and volunteer Fire Crews. The MRU-FA supports California's "Defend in Place Initiative" to save homes and help residents on the fire lines. The unit provides assistance to residents and responders to be self sufficient during the first few hours of fire, disasters and incidents.

Sector 10 CEO Pericles DeAvila stated that "We are excited that San Francisco is embracing the Sector 10 solutions to emergency response and look forward to continuing to work with the San Francisco Fire Department and city responders."

VIEW PICTURES AND INFO: www.sector10inc.blogspot.com The MRU-FA is the size of a refrigerator and provides a unique pre-packaged access point to essential life and property saving tools during any incident or disaster.

The MRU-FA contains its own fire pump, generator, first aid kits, eyewash, sink, potable water, microwave and tools such as shovels and picks. All items are designed to assist a person to manage, fight or suppress a fire. The MRU-FA is easy to move around and may be air dropped to any location in need by helicopter.

The commemoration ceremony will be held in the afternoon on the Marina Green closing at 4:30 p.m. with Mayor Gavin Newsom, Fire Chief Hayes-White, Supervisor Alioto-Pier, and other dignitaries and heroes from the 1989 earthquake taking part in the ceremony. There will be entertainment by Sony Holland (www.sonyholland.com) and some surprises. During the afternoon, prior to the ceremony, there will be a safety fair, musical entertainment, and S.F.F.D. demonstrations of the MRU-FA and other fire apparatus and water displays on the Marina Green.

San Francisco Fire Captain Jack McCloskey (Retired) states that "The product is a resource outlet that can deliver positive solutions and will have a tremendous impact on how we fight fires in California."

Sector 10's products, including the MRU-FA, were designed to distribute essentials such as personal protective equipment (PPE), tools and communications to the people immediately after an incident happens, making it easy for them to address their immediate needs as responders make their way to help them. Adding this level of sustainability, communications and tying the emergency response community with the private sector increases the survival capabilities of the victims and gives them tools that allow them self-sufficiency before and after the responders arrive.

A new picture is painted in Emergency Response:

Sector 10's pre-deployed tools such as the MRU-FA reduce the guesswork and provide first responders with additional resources at their command to save lives, contain and suppress fires.
