Zippi Receives Comments From Apple on BP Blaster App, and Resubmits Under "Tanker Blaster" Title for Approval

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 1, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Zippi Networks, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ZIPZ), an Applications company focused on delivering entertainment, gaming, and social networking Apps for today's mobile lifestyle, today announced that the company has received direct communication from Apple regarding its submission of BP Blaster, an iPhone application that takes aim at BP and its Oil Spill disaster. Apple's iPhone applications representative stated that although Apple realizes Zippi is not being malicious toward BP, the topic is so sensitive it just cannot be approved in its current form.

The company has stated its intent to change the name of the game and swap out certain graphic elements immediately; the game will remain intact with a different target of destruction as the game's main objective. Zippi has now re-submitted the app under the new name of Tanker Blaster and is currently in the review process at Apple.

Robert A. Rositano Jr., CEO of Zippi Networks, Inc., stated, "We understand the sensitivity and outright anger in some respects, when the name BP or Gulf Oil Spill comes up, this was exactly why we took the opportunity to put a game out that would allow users an outlet for their frustrations. It is unfortunate we could not get this through Apple, but certainly understand their concerns. I expect we will have new information on the updated version and submission in very short order. In addition, the progress on additional Apps is very encouraging; the company will share additional updates on applications (including Zippi Swap) in the coming weeks."
