MedAssets Awards SRI Surgical Contract Agreement for Reusable Surgical Products

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 11, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MedAssets Supply Chain Systems, LLC, a leading healthcare group purchasing organization (GPO), has awarded SRI/Surgical Express, Inc. (SRI Surgical) a contract agreement for Reusable Surgical Products, Instrument Programs, and a new product offering, the Hybrid Preference Pack™, a sustainable surgical kitting solution combining reusable and disposable surgical items that it co-markets and distributes exclusively with Cardinal Health. This is the second consecutive contract between MedAssets and SRI Surgical.

Gerald Woodard, CEO of SRI Surgical, commented, "As a supplier and reprocessor of reusable surgical products we are pleased to have the opportunity to continue to work with MedAssets' healthcare provider customers. The opportunity to include the Hybrid Preference Pack as an element of this contract will provide the clinical user the opportunity to customize their procedure packs with both reusable and disposable products."

The new three-year Agreement began December 1, 2010.

SRI Surgical is a founding member of Practice Greenhealth, and a founding sponsor of Practice Greenhealth's initiative, "Greening the OR." Since 1991, SRI has been providing reusable surgical products and reprocessing services to hospitals and surgery centers throughout the United States.
