The nation's advanced-trucking eyes will focus on Baltimore, Md., this October when the city hosts the 11th annual Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF) National Conference, CALSTART announced today. The HTUF conference takes place October 10-13, 2011, at the Baltimore Convention Center and focuses on expanding commercial and military fleet knowledge about the leading-edge of clean, fuel-saving trucks and buses now built in the United States. Registration for the event is now open at htuf2011.org.
Annually, the conferences draw hundreds of attendees representing fleets, truck makers, technology leaders and military and government officials. Attendees are able to kick the tires of the world's most advanced medium- and heavy-duty vehicles available today, take an active role in growing clean tech jobs, and reduce petroleum consumption in the United States.
HTUF is the nation's leading program driving production and use of medium- and heavy-duty hybrid and high-efficiency trucks and buses. It was founded by CALSTART and the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center's National Automotive Center and is operated by CALSTART under contract to the U.S. Army.

The convoy and ride and drive on the conference's last day, October 13, provide dynamic visuals for media. This year's event also features a special focus on fleets that use clean trucks, American leadership in this sector, and ways to overcome barriers to wider commercialization of energy-efficient, fuel-saving truck and bus technologies. Attending media will also hear how these "kings of clean" commercial vehicles can also save the lives of our military by cutting fuel use, reducing convoys and taking soldiers out of harm's way.
